Walking into 5 Hertford Street for the first time, I felt like Alice entering Wonderland. Robin Birley’s new London members’ club, which opened July 2012 in Mayfair, is very unassuming with its plain outside appearance. But once inside the 23,000 sqft 18th century townhouse you’ll find everything you ever wanted in an exclusive nightspot and much more. 5 Hertford is home to Loulou’s nightclub and offers a fantastic dinning experience, as well as a cigar shop, smoking patio and card-playing areas and has been dubbed “London’s hottest new club” by Vanity Fair, and VOGUE. The interior, designed by Rifat Ozbek, is exquisitely wild with deep, bold colors and prints, plush seating, lavish rugs and even a huge stuffed giraffe that greets guests as they enter the Madagascan Bar. Privacy is of utmost importance and it is strictly members-only, making 5 Hertford the new nightlife destination in London, and also one of the most difficult to get into.

When it come’s to travel, my desires have no end. I do not need to be in a pampered 5 star spa setting. I love to get down and dirty on a tiny, humid, fishing island with no luxuries in sight. Just to soak in the pure culture and nature of a new place! (in the photo above, in Thailand, this island didn’t even have toilets!) However, no words can describe the marvel, culture, and level of service one gets to experience at an Aman Resort property. Each resort is so much more then a vacation spot. It’s like it’s own little heavenly world tucked away from anything remotely close to ordinary. As I have written about multiple times now, and still it remains at the top of my bucketlist, my great longing to visit all of the World’s unbelievable and unprecedented AMAN RESORT properties, is slowly being satiated one trip at a time. Back when I wrote my first draft of my bucketlist, there were 26 properties. Now they have added a new property in Venice, Italy, which I will definitely be adding to my list!
It is with great excitement that I can announce that next week I will be visiting my 4th of the 27 properties, Amangani. So far I have only been to the 3 Aman properties in Indonesia, Amandari, Amankila, and Amanusa. Each totally unique and truly amazing in their own way. Amangani, which I will be visiting next week, is located in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and is one of the 2 Aman Resorts located in the US. I hope to fall in love with Amangani just as much as the Indonesian Aman properties. Check back for my review and travel experiences next week.

Brent Bolthouse has of course done it again, and this time his smash hit comes in the form of an upscale Cali surf bar located inside The Fairmont Hotel, in the heart of Santa Monica. The Bungalow, which opened last August, boasts a killer seaside atmosphere with a beautiful patio setting and “friendly neighborhood vibes.” My girlfriends and I try to do a “girl’s night” at least once a month so a few weeks ago we headed out on a rainy Thursday evening, set on exploring the best of what Santa Monica has to offer.
We started with dinner at Fig, which is also conveniently located at The Fairmont and has good food and tasty drinks, and then popped over to Bungalow to find a line around the corner! The whole place was packed but still very chill and fun. We found a spot in the corner near the bar, chatted, laughed and enjoyed the down to earth but hip vibe, before heading to SHOREbar for a nightcap. Bottom line, Bungalow is the place to go in Santa Monica for mingling in a classy, beach side setting, with great cocktails, ambience and service. I’ll definitely be going back soon, to search for my favorite leopard scarf I lost after a little bit too much fun, and because what girl wouldn’t take any opportunity to nonchalantly run into Matthew McConaughey!

The Huffington Post proclaimed “If you only see one show in your entire life, make it Absinthe,” and I have to agree! Two weeks ago we celebrated my 30th birthday in Las Vegas and having seen Absinthe the summer before I was already set on seeing it again. I explained to my friends that this show is so funny, and so pervy that you will fall out of your chair laughing. And the stunts they pull off under the intimate setting of the “big top” tent are jaw dropping.
Between being mesmerized by the amazing feats of physical strength and beauty, and being shocked by the extremely inappropriate comments of the show’s host and his assistant, you will leave in awe, with you face hurting from laughing so hard. My only warning is that the show is VERY inappropriate so don’t take your ultra conservative grandma. Also splurge for the VIP seats. They are only about $110 a ticket, which is cheap as far as Vegas show ticket prices run, and you’ll be glad you spent the extra money which will put you in the first 3 rows, just feet away from one of the most amazing performances you will ever experience!
