I was beyond excited to visit Venice for the first time this summer with my boyfriend’s mom Kathy and his aunt Jan. It was Kathy’s birthday trip to Europe so I really wanted our stay in Venice to be special, so I am very glad we picked this hotel. Besides the amazing location they offer great services that will make your trip effortless and fun. Upon arrival the desk agent will give you a code to access the wi-fi, free of charge for the first 24 hours (hurray for free wi-fi!). There is an American style complimentary buffet breakfast every morning, and the Le Maschere Restaurant also offers authentic Venetian cuisine in a beautiful atmosphere. Just inside the hotel entrance, the Splendid Venice Bar provides a perfect place to enjoy tasty cocktails, with floor to ceiling windows offering uninterrupted views of the small winding canal in front. Or grab a bottle of wine and head to the rooftop deck to take in views of the city and water all around.
The concierge set up a complimentary tour of The Murono Glass factory and a complimentary water taxi to take us to the island of Murono, which is less than a mile from Venice and an awesome experience. We took a water bus back to St Mark’s Square and explored the museums and shops of Venice and had drinks at the rooftop restaurant at Hotel Danieli. (The drinks are very expensive here but you have to remember you are paying for the amazing view!) And on our last afternoon we had to of course take a romantic gondola ride. Not quite the same without my boyfriend (lol) but still very fun. I loved Venice, and can’t wait to go back and huge part of that was lucky out on finding such great hotel that helped with the logistics of our trip so we could focus on having fun. After three fabulous days in Venice we boarded a water taxi (that the hotel also arranged for us), and said good-bye to a truly splendid trip.
