New York is full of luxury hotels, and I am extremely fortunate to be able to travel often and visit many cool hotels across the globe. Three years ago, I stayed at the Gansevoort Park Ave for the first time and loved it so much that this week I am back for my fourth visit. So why would I keep coming back to the same hotel when there are so many other great options?
LOCATION. LOCATION. LOCATION.
Gansevoort Park Ave is centrally located in the heart of Gramercy, on the corner of 29th Street and Park Avenue, just steps away from Broadway shows in Times Square, and excellent dining around Madison Square Park, and shopping in Union Square. And it is just 13 blocks from Grand Central Station. When you have to work in Greenwich, like my husband does when we are staying in NYC, not having to commute to the train station is a huge plus!
ATTENTION TO DETAIL
This hip hotel offers 249 luxury rooms and gorgeous suites. Upon entering the three-story atrium lobby with granite floors, you’re welcomed by a cozy fireplace and fabulous purple chandeliers. There is Cutler Salon, an Exhale Spa, which offers yoga and bare core classes (I took a great class just this morning!), and a state-of-the-art gym. And Ristorante Asellina serves up delicious Italian inspired fare in a contemporary setting. The Drift, a beach and surf inspired bi-level rooftop bar + lounge, is great spot to grab a cocktail or have a meeting. And my favorite amenity – the signature rooftop pool with a view of the Empire State Building! During summer months, you can soak up the sun and enjoy delicious drinks and food while lounging poolside.
I arrived to find pillowcases embroidered with Glitter & Mud. So cool!
The #1 reason why I love to stay at the Gansevoort Park Ave is because this place has good vibes. And you cannot put a price on that. Their motto is basically GET IT – as in go for it. Get what you want in life. Make things happen. And that is pretty awesome. Also, they have sex kits in their bathrooms available for purchase (in case you forget yours) and rubber ducky personal massagers which make me laugh every time I see them. It’s hard to find a hotel that perfectly combines class with a sense of humor, but Gansevoort Group nails it. This place is sexy and fun. Two things a good date should always be.
