YASHIN OCEAN HOUSE, LONDON REVIEW

August 26, 2016 by @VanessaRivers

With so many great Japanese restaurants in London you have to be different to stand out. And that is just what Yashin Ocean House is – different in a very good way. Created by the same team as Yashin in Kensington (considered one of the best sushi restaurants in London), Yashin Ocean House is a modern Japanese restaurant that boasts head to tail dining with almost everything on the menu coming from the sea. You won’t find meat on the menu (or carbs) but you will find a carefully curated selection of fish dishes as well as a few veggie options such as Yaki Yosi Tofu and tempura vegetables. And you won’t be offered soy sauce with your sashimi. Instead you’ll be invited to let the flavor of the fish speak for itself.

The cocktails at Yashin Ocean House are fantastic, and the upscale, unique decor, combined with dim lighting, creates a sophisticated, inviting ambiance. Set in the perfect location in South Kensington, on a quiet section of Old Brompton Rd, just a few minutes walk from Gloucester RD tube station, Yashin Ocean House is the perfect spot for date night, dinner with a friend, or your next private event. This week we held our We Are Travel Girls Launch Party in their private room, which proved to be the perfect setting for an intimate meet and greet for 12. I am obsessed with truffle so my favorite dishes of the night were the tuna with truffle-infused ponzu jelly, the grouper carpaccio with summer truffle, and the salmon sushi with truffle. Who needs soy sauce with a menu this good?

I was welcomed at Yashin Ocean House as a guest, but as always, my opinions are my own.
