Last August we took a much-needed family vacation to Mallorca, a beautiful island off the coast of Spain. This was my second trip to Mallorca and I was excited to visit with my 3-month-old daughter, husband and mother-in-law. We rented a vill through our luxury vacation member’s club Inspirato and were happy to have plenty of space, and extra bedrooms to welcome some friends to stay with us throughout the week as well.
Mallorca is the perfect destination for families. It is safe and beautiful island, just a short two-hour flight from London, with much to do and see, great weather, excellent food and friendly people. On this trip we spent most of our time relaxing at the villa overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, and Inspirato also set up a boat rental for us for the day which was a fun and easy way to see the island with a young baby. On my previous trip I stayed in the main city of Palma and explored much of the island by car. (For tips on what to do and see on Mallorca and where to dine in Palma read How To Spend 3 Days On Mallorca).
If you’re visiting Mallorca with friends and want fun bars and restaurants to go to at night Palma is where you should stay, but for a luxury family getaway you can’t beat having your own Spanish villa with a heated pool, on a quiet street, overlooking the sea. We spent our evenings sitting outside on the patio enjoying beautiful sunsets and Spanish wine. Inspirato arranged a private chef that prepared several delicious dinners for us at the villa and also assisted us with restaurant reservations for nights out. I hope my video and photos inspire you to take a family getaway to the beautiful Spanish island of Mallorca!
