When a friend recently asked me “Where do you stay when you are in Santa Barbara?” I was surprisingly reluctant to answer. This made me realize that I have purposely not written about my favorite little “house by the sea” because I did not want the secret getting out about how cute, close to the beach and affordable it is. But as usual my eagerness to share all of my best travel finds and my guilt of greedily keeping this place to myself got the better of me. So here I am, sharing with you where I stay when I visit SB, Casa Del Mar Inn.
Case Del Mar Inn, nestled in the heart of West Beach, offers twenty-one rooms surrounding a beautiful garden courtyard. It’s walking distance to downtown Santa Barbara, the harbor, pier, and the funk zone, home to the fab urban wine trail and some of the best new restaurants in town. And at just one block off the beach you will find yourself in the perfect location to jog or bike along the oceanside bike path. Running is my favorite way to see any city, so this is a huge plus for me! CDM is also exceptionally clean and they offer a complimentary breakfast from 7:30-10am every morning, as well as complementary wine and cheese tastings, 5-7pm every evening. But my favorite part about this budget hotel? The graciously kind staff who will be sure to make you feel right at home!
